Captured Butterfly

Have you ever lost yourself lost yourself
within someone else forgetting who you once was
amnesia sets in until only a shadow remains doubled
over
seeping pain holding in a wail see you liked your
eggs
over easy bacon crispy light toasted bread with real
butter
you loved to have me braid your hair sitting
between my legs on Saturday mornings you
was my man oh yes kept a supply of coconut hair oil
grape jelly one hundred percent orange juice
just for you yes you loved me in red hated long lines
and gurlie movies in the meantime entered into you
forgetting me walked around in a daze like a glazed
donut
floating on cloud nine but then i crashed then i
crashed hard you left me for who i once was twenty
years ago
she is young and fresh and in awe of you and i am old
Tired trying to remember who i used to be took a
decade to pick up the pieces of bad love a hard bed
and poor choices
Living and learning never eva lose yourself as
some never re-capture the dancing monarch
butterfly.
